Let's Thai it..Mission 10: Shada

This was one hell of a delicious mission.

Location: Mahouz. Next to Nasir Pharmacy
Group: Nazli, Eman, Sireen, Reem, Noor.
Rating: 8.5/10
Date: 28-11-2011

We went on Monday without knowing that it was buffet night. The place was almost full when we got there and it kept on getting more crowded with time. We had a look on the buffet but preferred to make our own order just to try to include the usual dishes that we order weekly. The menu was clean & clear but not well categorized. We didn't need it anyway because the waitress was extra friendly and she recommended their top dishes and responded to our requests without putting the extra usual effort.

 Full place.

Loved the soup set.

Food was delivered using this trolley.

Tom Yum soup (sea food). Delicious from every aspect. Not too sour, not too spicy and not so fishy. We took our time sipping and digging for more crabs because it was so enjoyable that everything else had to wait. I felt like i was on my own, swimming inside the bowl and not paying attention to the conversation the girls were having.

Beef Salad. Good one. A bit spicy. Not one of the best ones we had though.

The winning dish. Fried Crabs. A must must must try. Noor described it as KFC crabs. It was so good that we kept on coming back to it till the end of the meal.

Spring Rolls. Soft. Very Ramadanish/homemade style.

The rice was fine. Basic.

Shrimps with Garlic. Tasty. By now i can tell that any Thai dish that is cooked with garlic has to be good!

Chicken with Cashew nut. Another winning dish. It was excellent, the chicken was cooked in a perfect way. Very unique!

Chili Beef. It was ok. Not bad but not as good as the other dishes.

Pad Thai Noodles. Average. Same level as the beef on top.

Clams. The girls didn't like it but i found it fine. Just fine, but nothing special about it.

My plate after the battle.

Watermelon on the house after an excellent meal.

This place was by far one of the best Thai restaurants we tried. The service was extraordinary although the place was full and the staff were very friendly. We fell in love with our waitress, her name was "O".  She called herself "Big O" because of her round figure. Avoid going on Mondays as its buffet night and the place is too crowded. The only negative thing about this place is the atmosphere. It's dull.

You'll leave with a smile & smelling like fish :)
