Let's Thai it...Mission 5: Baan Saeng Thai

5th mission to explore the hidden Thai restaurants in Bahrain. I went in thinking that this place is going to be one of the worst places on our list but it surprised me! It was spacious & fun.

Location: Adliya (Infront of HSBC)
Group: Me, Eman, Sireen, Reem, Noor. (Full house)
Overall Rating: 7/10

Coolest part about this restaurant was the valet parking. There is a parking space infront of it and a huge land right outside, but you don't have to worry about it. They'll take care of parking your car.

This is the main dining area. I liked it. Not dark and spacious. Full of decoration & Thai items.

This is the room that we dined in. I apologize for the bad picture, must start taking pics with a real cam & not BB. The atmosphere of the room added a lot to our Thai experience. Since it's not clear i should explain more: It's a Thai style room where you get to sit on the ground and place your legs under the table (in my case, dangle your legs!). One of the girls wasn't aware of the open space under the table and she fell with her face right on the table!

Menu was not too long but it was still hard for us to pick which dishes to try this time. By now we got familiar with most of the Thai dishes & it's always confusing whether to try new dishes or stick to the ones we tried already and compare.

Tom Yum soup was excellent. One of the best we tried so far and the Lemon Grass played a major role in it!

Fried Prawn Wanton. It was nice but not so tasteful. We tried better.

Deep Fried Shrimps. Excellent, a journey between the crust and the shrimp where you can taste the different taste of both. It's too oily though, had to squeeze it with tissue.

Papaya Salad. I loved it although i'm not a fan of salads! That only means that it was really good.

Seafood Noodles. It was dry. We had to keep mixing it so the sauce spreads all over it. It wasn't bad though.

Stir Fried Beef with Oyster Sauce. This is always my top dish but it wasn't this time. It was good but there was something in it that ruined the good taste.

The winning dish, Stir Fried Prawns with Cashew nut.

Tasteless Vegetable Fried Rice.

Deep Fried Chicken with Garlic Pepper. Absolutely delicious. But again a bit dry and needed more sauce.

Steamed Crab in Soya Sauce. Well cooked. But for some reason i felt like i was eating a kid! Worst dish of the night.

Meal ended with Green Tea and total bill was BD39.300 which was fair enough for 5 persons and that big order of ours. Place is highly recommended, sit in the room for a complete Thai experience. Staff are not so friendly but they speak good English and they are familiar with all food details.
