th mission to explore the hidden Thai restaurants in Bahrain took place in Budaiya Highway at Lanna Thai. The place is old but the food was excellent.
Location: Budaiya Highway, right before Palm Square.
Group: Me, Eman, Sireen, Reem, Noor and Manayel.
Overall Rating: 8/10
There are two dining options, a room with normal dining tables and another rooms with three Thai floor-style tables. Of course we went for the floor table.
Menu design really needs to be improved. Content wise most food items sounded the same that we had to ask for recommendations and more details about each dish.
Extremely delicious Tom Yum Soup (Sea Food). We all fell in love with it. And the way it was presented in this pot was really nice too.
Noodle Salad. The winning dish. A must try that is not in the menu. It was a bit spicy but refreshing at the same time. I really enjoyed feeling the spices on my taste buds as the combination of cold/spicy was new to me.
Beef with Ginger. It doesn't look so good but it tastes amazing! I always preferred Oyster Sauce but Ginger won this time.
Total Bill = BD29.065
All main dishes were excellent and that's why the place got high rating. As for the atmosphere it was average and the place was old and wooden which is a bit depressing. The staff were Indians, which was a new experience in our project. There was no music or TV. But the highlight of the night was the pot of Tom Yum soup, it was fun :)

Shrimp Toast. Not recommended. You can taste the toast strongly but not the shrimps.

Deep Fried Squid. Average & too oily. Reminded the girls of Ramadan finger food.
Deep Fried Prawns. Better than the quids but also too oily.
Beef with Ginger. It doesn't look so good but it tastes amazing! I always preferred Oyster Sauce but Ginger won this time.
Prawn with Cashew Nut. Tasteful!
Chicken with Onion. Very juicy and delicious.
Noodles with Soya Sauce. Too oily but one of the best noodles we tried till now.
Vegetable Fried Rice. 10/10
Loved their table cloth!
The entrance of the Thai room.
